Third year second part

Third Year second part computer engineering has total of 6 subjects. The six of the subjects include Engineering Economics, Object Oriented analysis and design, Artificial intelligence, Operating system, embedded system and Database management system.

The last one is minor project. The minor project is the subject which is practical. We don't need to give theory exam of that subject. We must submit the proposal at first. Then in the mid-term defence we should submit project report. The basic outline of the project work is also presented via slideshow. The final defence of our minor project is evaluated before the board exam and the practical marks is provided by the internal as well as the external investigator.
Here is the Subjects and subject codes with notes below:

Third year first part

The Institute Of Engineering has made the third year first part a course of 7 subjects.
Every subjects has equal marks distributions. There is the provision of practical marks in each subjects. We will be having the practical lab of communication English, computer organization and architecture, computer graphics, Instrumentation II, software engineering and data communication.
There might be some extra project and presentation for the subject like computer graphics and software engineering.
In addition, there will be a Field Visit to any microprocessor or micro controller based instrumentation organization or factory for the necessary case study of Instrumentation II.
Here is the table for subject codes and subjects:

III/I
Communication English [SH 601]

Probability and Statistics [SH 602]

Computer organization and Architecture [CT 603]

Software Engineering [CT 601]

Computer Graphic [EX 603]

Instrumentation II [EX 602]

Data Communication [CT 602]

Second year first part

Computer Engineering:
Computer Engineering is a discipline that integrates several fields of electrical engineering and computer science required to develop computer hardware and software. Computer engineers usually have training in electronic engineering (or electrical engineering), software design, and hardware-software integration instead of only software engineering or electronic engineering. Computer engineers are involved in many hardware and software aspects of computing, from the design of individual micro controllers, microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. This field of engineering not only focuses on how computer systems themselves work but also how they integrate into the larger picture.

There are mainly four university in Nepal that provide the engineering bachelor degree.
1. Tribhuvan University
2. Purbanchal University
3.Pokhara University
4. Kathmandu University

Tribhuvan University offer 7 subjects in the second year first part.
These are C++, Electomagnetics, Theory of computation, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Electric Circuit Theory, Digital Logic and Mathematics.
The basic subject names and their codes are in the following table.

II/I
Mathematics III [SH 501]

Object Oriented Programming [CT 501]

Electrical Circuit Theory [EE 501]

Theory of Computation [CT 502]

Electronics Devices and Circuit [EX 501]

Digital Logic [EX 502]

Electromagnetism [EX 503]
